MINOT, N.D. - Riding high after erasing an eight-point, fourth-quarter deficit for a dramatic comeback win their last time out, the Minot State women's basketball team returns to its home court at the MSU Dome to host two more NSIC contests this weekend.
Two challenging contests as two of the top teams from the NSIC's South Division in Minnesota State, Mankato and Concordia-St. Paul, visit the MSU Dome on Friday at 5:30 p.m., and Saturday at 3:30 p.m., respectively.
Last Time Out
Trailing 64-56 with six minutes left to play, the Beavers (6-10 overall, 4-5 NSIC) used an 8-1 run to close the gap against visiting Wayne State last Saturday night.

Natasha Elliott 3-pointer cut the difference to 70-69 in the final minute, and after a defensive stand,
Amber Stevahn's jumper with 8 seconds left gave Minot State a 71-70 victory.
Leading The Way
Stevahn scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the Beavers comeback win, and her 25-point performance helped the Minot State forward eclipse 2,000 points in her collegiate career. In two years at Bismarck State College, she scored 1,517 points, and at Minot State in a season-and-a-half, she has 490 points for 2,007 points in her career, and counting.
Stevahn also leads the NSIC in field-goal percentage at 54.5 percent (114-of-209) this season.
Janie Wunderlich added 11 points in the win and is approaching a career milestone herself as she has 906 points in her collegiate career, and
Kate Head added eight points and six assists in the Beavers last win.
Scouting the Mavericks
Coming in after a 72-68 win over Bemidji State, the Mavericks (12-3, 8-3) lead the NSIC South Division and are the highest scoring team in the NSIC as they average 79.3 points per game.
Along with leading the way in points per game, the Mavericks also lead the NSIC handily in turnover margin as they force an average of 23.7 turnovers and only allow 14.4 giveaways.
Joey Batt leads the Mavericks as she is third in the NSIC averaging 17.3 points per game, just slightly more than the Beavers' Stevahn, who is fourth in the league in scoring at 17.2 ppg.
Scouting the Golden Bears
While the Mavericks lead the way in scoring, the Golden Bears (10-5, 6-5) are one of the best in the NSIC in rebounding averaging 40.5 boards per game – second highest in the NSIC.
Leading Concordia-St. Paul's efforts on the glass is 5-foot-11 sophomore forward Sydney Zgutowicz who is second in the NSIC, as well, in rebounds per game averaging 8.3 per contest.
Third in the NSIC South Division, the Golden Bears come into the weekend looking to shake a three-game skid.
