The Minot State volleyball team hits the road this weekend for a pair of NSIC matches, beginning Friday, September 18th, against Minnesota State University Moorhead at 6 p.m.  The Beavers will then travel to Crookston, Minnesota, to take on Minnesota Crookston Saturday, September 19th, at 2 p.m.  

Minot State enters the weekend 3-7 overall and 0-2 in NSIC play after opening conference action at home last weekend against Bemidji State and Minnesota Duluth.  The Beavers fell in three sets in both matches but will look to bounce back with their first conference win of the season on the road.  

Junior libero Maya Vibeto enters the weekend after earning NSIC Defensive Player of the Week honors following her performance in the Beavers' conference opening weekend.  Vibeto recorded 45 digs across Minot State's two matches, including a season high 25 digs against Bemidji State on Friday.  She followed that performance with 20 digs against Minnesota Duluth on Saturday, averaging 7.5 digs per set for the weekend.  The honor is the first NSIC weekly award of Vibeto's career and the first for Minot State volleyball program this season. 

Friday's match up with Minnesota State Moorhead will be the 21st meeting between the two programs.  The Dragons currently hold an 18-2 advantage in the all-time series.  Moorhead has won the last eight meetings between the teams, including a pair of three-set victories in 2025.  The most recent meeting came November 4th 2025, when the Dragons defeated the Beavers 3-0 in Moorhead.  Minot State's last victory over Moorhead came in 2019, when the Beavers earned a 3-1 win at home.  Moorhead enters the weekend after opening NSIC play with losses to Jamestown and Northern State.  

Minot State will close the weekend against Minnesota Crookston on Saturday afternoon.  The Golden Eagles hold a 16-7 advantage in the all-time series.  Minot State is 2-7 against Crookston in road matches.  The Beavers won the most recent meeting between the teams, sweeping Crookston 3-0 at the MSU Dome on October 11th, 2025.  Minot State ook the three sets by scores of 25-23, 25-23, and 25-21, with Vibeto recording a team-high 29 digs in the victory.  

With two conference matches on the schedule, the Beavers will look to build on their defensive effort from last weekend while continuing to find their rhythm as NSIC play moves into its second week.
